For a fit person, the walk is not strenuous. It follows the coastal path for most of the way. You should wear suitable clothing and walking shoes or boots, and take a supply of water and food with you to last several hours.

There is nowhere to buy food or drink along the way, until you return to Dale village at the end of the walk.

The whole walk is covered by both:

We have recorded a number of short conversations we had when walking the route. These are available for download from the website to your mp3 player, and can be listened to along the walk, or at home before you go.

Starting the walk

Proceeding along the B4327, follow the one-way system into Dale village. There is a ‘pay and display’ car park near the road, close to the sea front. After you have left the car, continue along the road towards the houses. Head for the Griffin Inn, about 200 metres from the car park.
